The heart of this federal government site is the Find and Compare Cars database, with miles-per-gallon numbers for 1985 through 2002 cars, light trucks, minivans, and sport utility vehicles. Can compare vehicles by fuel cost and global warming pollution, searching by class or manufacturer, or by miles per gallon (MPG). Also has a gasoline price page with links to national and regional fuel price information, information on vehicle safety ratings and air pollution, gas mileage tips, and material on hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles.
